Kia is gearing up for the launch of the next-generation Seltos, and fresh spy shots from India have revealed significant design updates. The SUV, which has been spotted testing multiple times, now showcases a completely redesigned front fascia, aligning with Kia’s latest global design philosophy.
Bold new styling inspired by Kia’s flagship models
The next-gen Seltos adopts Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design language, seen on the EV9 and Syros. The front end features slim and angular vertical LED DRLs, framing the rectangular headlamp units. The concave grille is a fresh addition, replacing the outgoing model’s design, while the horizontal slats on the bumper remain unchanged.
Interestingly, Kia appears to have removed fog lights, a trend seen in the Carens Clavis. The lower air intake now houses a radar module, hinting at ADAS Level-2 capabilities.
Interior and feature expectations
While interior images are yet to surface, reports suggest the next-gen Seltos will receive a major cabin overhaul. Expected upgrades include:
- 30-inch Trinity Display, integrating infotainment and digital instrumentation.
- Ventilated front and rear seats.
- Sliding and reclining rear seats for added comfort.
- New Double D-Cut 2-spoke steering wheel with fresh color schemes.
Powertrain and hybrid possibilities
Kia is likely to retain its existing engine lineup, including:
- 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol (115 PS, 144 Nm).
- 1.5L turbo-petrol (160 PS, 253 Nm).
- 1.5L diesel (116 PS, 250 Nm).
However, a hybrid powertrain is expected to join the lineup after the new-gen model launches in India. Kia may electrify the 1.5L petrol engine, similar to its upcoming three-row SUV.
Market position and expected pricing
The next-gen Seltos will continue to rival the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Tata Curvv. Given the feature additions, Kia is expected to increase pricing slightly, with the base model starting around ₹11 lakh (ex-showroom).
