New Yezdi motorcycle is ready for launch, Royal Enfield rival

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Classic Legends could be planning to introduce a new Yezdi motorcycle in the Indian market to rival the Royal Enfield bikes. According to sources, images from a Classic Legend Dealer event reveal that the new motorcycle could be ready to go into production. In addition to this, the launch is also likely to be pretty soon.

Yezdi Planning Neo-Retro Roadster?

The brand could be planning to introduce a neo-retro motorcycle. According to images that have leaked out on the internet, the Neo-retro roadster motorcycle is likely to follow the Yezdi design language. Spyshots reveal that the new Yezdi motorcycle comes with a rounded headlamp and twin pod instruments. While the instruments cluster may look like a classic on the outside, it could house a digital display.

Furthermore, the fuel tank appears to be retro with rectangular rubberised grips on the sides. The motorcycle also comes with a flat seat and an extended rear fender. Currently, the motorcycle does not appear to have a stoplight and other ancillaries in its conventional place, leading us to believe that the brand could either add them later to the motorcycle or they could be mounted elsewhere.

The spied motorcycle also features a large sump guard which first led us to believe that this could be an all-out scrambler style bike. But the bike also comes with alloy wheels a low front mudguard and Pirelli’s road-biased tyres which point us in the other direction. The bike also comes with a single exhaust unit which hints that the spied motorcycle could be using the Yezdi Adventure’s 334cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled powerplant.

Yezdi’s Neo-Retro Roadster – Competition

The new motorcycle appears to be the competitor of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 motorcycle in the Indian market. However, with a liquid-cooled engine and expectedly more features than the RE Hunter 350, the brand is unlikely to compete at its price point. However, only time will tell who wins when the two lock horns in the Indian market.
