It looks like Toyota has finally green-lighted the ultimate SUV in India. The prices are said to start at INR 2.1 crore, ex-showroom. The Japanese carmaker will bring the car in as a completely built unit (CBU). The bookings commenced back in August 2022. According to a media report, Toyota will launch the vehicle in the coming weeks. Deliveries will start soon after.

Land Cruiser LC 300

There is no need to introduce the Land Cruiser. The Japanese carmaker’s flagship SUV has been on sale since 1951 and is known for its ruggedness and longevity. Toyota has sold over 10 million units worldwide since its inception.

The new Land Cruiser, or LC 300, is based on Toyota’s TNGA-F platform. The SUV is boxy and gets a large commanding grille at the front. The LC 300 rides on 20-inch alloys. Apart from other improvements, the main upgrade has resulted in a 200 kg weight saving compared to the earlier model. The Land Cruiser retains its imposing fascia and road presence.

On the inside, the car is feature loaded with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital instrument cluster and other nifty features. It is no longer bare bones as a utilitarian vehicle; instead, it gets premium materials on the inside. While Toyota offers multiple variants and engine options for the LC 300 in the international markets, we would likely get the car in a single top-of-the-line variant.
