New Range Rover Sport to be revealed on 10th May 2022

Written by Rohit Tonapi

The new Range Rover Sport will soon break cover, and the company has given everyone first glimpses of the new model. The third-generation Range Rover Sport will have its global premiere at 11:30 pm IST (7:00 pm BST) on Tuesday, 10th May 2022. In addition to this, to watch the reveal, you can also tune into Land Rover’s official YouTube channel.

In addition to this, the company says the new model will continue the daring exploits of its predecessors by undertaking a unique challenge at its launch. The previous-generation Range Rover Sport has completed a series of challenges in the past. The challenges completed include a first recorded crossing of the ‘Empty Quarter’ desert in the Arabian Peninsula, a record-setting hill-climb at Pikes Peak, and the first ascent of the 999 steps to Heaven’s Gate in China in 2018.

The Range Rover Sport is the carmaker’s best selling model and has outsold the bigger Range Rover by almost 40 per cent in recent years. The new model expectedly will be radically different from the outgoing car. The current Range Rover Sport uses a 10-year-old platform. The new model will share the new MLA Flex architecture with the larger Range Rover. When the new Range Rover Sport launches, it will compete with the likes of Aston Martin DBX, Porsche Cayenne, Lamborghini Urus and Maserati Levante.

New Range Rover Sport Teaser Images

The set of teaser images includes two shots of the exterior and one showing the silhouette of the interior. In addition to this, it also has a picture of a person in a racing safety helmet. The image with the racing safety helmet further hints at another challenge attempt by the manufacturer.

In the two exterior images, one can barely see the headlights, which look slimmer than the new Range Rover and the side fender gills. The photos also show the vehicle in a dual-tone colour – Red with a black roof.

The interiors show the new sleeker design language from the new Range Rover. However, unlike the new Range Rover, the teaser image shows a new three-spoke steering wheel. Other visible details include the large touch-screen infotainment display, drive selector and rotary air-conditioning controls.
