Making its Taycan sportscar more affordable in India, Porsche has introduced a new base variant to its range. Badged ‘RWD’, the new variant is priced at Rs 1.67 crore (ex-showroom, India).

Porsche Taycan RWD variant details
The new base variant of the Taycan, the RWD, is priced at Rs 1.67 crore (ex-showroom). It is positioned below the 4S variant, which is priced at Rs 1.91 crore and the official bookings have also commenced nationwide.
While it looks visually identical to the 4S variant, it has different alloy wheels and a slightly different interior theme. However, the rest of the car and the features are unchanged.
The main difference in this variant is its rear-wheel-drive configuration that is backed by an 89 kWh battery pack. Paired with a powerful 408 bhp and 410 Nm torque-producing rear axle-mounted electric motor, the RWD can also do a WLTP-claimed range of up to 590 km per charge.
Speaking of the performance, the 0-100 km/h comes up in just 4.8 seconds on the dash, while it can also reach up to a top speed of 230 km/h. Moreover, it is the lightest model in the complete range, weighing 2,090 kg (kerb).
Since the platform is unchanged, the RWD also supports the 270 kW fast charging. With the help of rapid charging, it can be charged from 10-80 per cent in just 18 minutes; equating to a range of 272 km in just 10 minutes of charging time.
Customers can save up to Rs 87 lakh by opting for the RWD version instead of the Turbo top-spec trim.
