New Mahindra Alfa CNG Cargo & Passenger variant launched

Mahindra has launched the new Mahindra Alfa CNG Cargo and Passenger under Mahindra Electric Mobility Ltd. The brand has announced that the Alfa CNG Passenger and Cargo variants are based on Mahindra’s popular Alfa brand. The company reveals that the Alfa Passenger DX BS6 CNG is priced at INR 2,57,000 ex-showroom. While the Alfa Load Plus comes with a sticker price of INR 2,57,800 ex-showroom, Lucknow. In addition to this, the brand also revealed that the Alfa Cargo and Passenger owners would be able to save up to INR 4,00,000 in 5-years as fuel. The fuel expenses are compared to diesel-powered cargo and passenger vehicles available in the market.

Mahindra Alfa CNG Cargo and Passenger – Availability

Mahindra will be offering the Alfa CNG Cargo and Passenger through Mahindra dealerships in multiple states. These include Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh. The brand also reveals that the increasing density of CNG stations in the Indian market will prove helpful for those looking to make saving on fuel. The new initiative also allows the company to offer a broader range of vehicles, with customers having multiple options, including electric, diesel and CNG. 

Mahindra Alfa CNG Cargo and Passenger – Technical Information & Savings

The Mahindra Alfa CNG Cargo and Passenger vehicles come with the biggest-in-class 395cc water-cooled engine. The brand claims that the engine promises long term reliability. The engine also boasts of offering the best-in-segment torque of 23.5 Nm, 20 Nm of which is available at low engine speeds. This will help the three-wheeler in city traffic and slow speeds. Both the Alfa CNG Cargo and Passenger come with a best-in-segment sheet metal thickness of 0.90 mm, offering high durability.

As per ARAI, the Alfa Load Plus delivers a mileage of 38.6 km/kg. On the other hand, the Alfa DX passenger returns 40.2 km/kg. Compared to diesel-powered three-wheelers, the CNG-powered Cargo and Passenger three-wheelers come with a running cost of INR 68.1/kg, compared to INR 90.92/litre on diesel as of March 2022 in Lucknow.
