At Auto Expo 2023, Lexus showcased the RX SUV. The SUV will arrive in two trims – RX 350h Luxury and RX 500h F Sport Performance. Bookings for the new RX SUV and the launch will happen before the end of March 2023.
New Lexus RX Engine Options
The RX 350h Luxury uses a 2.5-litre turbo-charged petrol engine matched with a CVT gearbox. This comes with a strong-hybrid system thus making 247 HP. It has a choice of two powertrains – a front-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive. The first one is capable of doing a 0 to 100 kmph run in a claimed 8.1 seconds. Meanwhile, the latter can do the same in a claimed 7.9 seconds.
The RX 500h F Sport Performance, the higher-performance version, uses a 2.4-litre turbo-petrol engine matched to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Along with its strong-hybrid system, it belts out 366 HP and 460 Nm of torque. It comes standard with an all-wheel-drive system and can achieve a 0-100 kmph time of 6.2 seconds.
New Lexus RX Design Highlights
The new RX adopts Lexus’ Alluring X Verve design language that perfectly showcases the ‘spindle body’ appearance of the new RZ electric SUV. Furthermore, the RX 500h also gets an F-Sport body kit. This adds to some visual differences over the standard model. The standard model gets chrome accents in the bumper, in contrast to the F-Sport which gets piano black. Even the entire bumper on the F-Sport variant is complete in a full-body colour treatment. More importantly, it sports an F-Sport emblem on the front fenders.
The RX is available in eight colour shades. These are Sonic Quartz, Sonic Chrome, Sonic Iridium, Graphite Black, Red Mica, Sonic Titanium and Deep Blue Mica. But now, Lexus has now added a new Sonic Copper to the RX palette for the customers to choose from. The F-Sport variant, however, is only available in six colour shades. Of which two are F-Sport exclusive colours, namely White Nova and Heat Blue.
New Lexus RX Interiors And Equipment
On the inside, Lexus has incorporated its Tazuna Concept for the interior of the fifth-gen RX. The RX also gets a 14-inch touchscreen in the infotainment system with wireless charging and Apple CarPlay. But interestingly it gets a wired connection for Android Auto. Lexus is offering a choice of three interior colour options, Black, Dark Sepia and Solis White. The other two trim options include Sumi woodgrain and medium bamboo brown.
