KTM is Ready To Update its RC (Race Competition) series supersport motorcycles in the Indian market. Images of the new RC 125 and RC 200 have emerged on the internet, and sources say the photos were uploaded on the official website for a short period of time. This leads us to believe that the launch of the motorcycles is just around the corner.

2022 KTM RC 125 & RC 200 – Design Highlights

KTM is updating both the one-eighth-litre RC 125 and the RC 200 motorcycle. Both the motorcycles get completely new bodywork and updates to the chassis. The front fascia comes with a single headlamp unit, replacing the twin-projector units. The fascia also features an integrated body boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights and turn signals. The motorcycle also features new graphics on the bodywork. While the new Blue/Orange shade is likely to be limited to the RC 390, the RC 125 and RC 200 will come with Orange/White and Orange/Black colour themes. The new motorcycles also come with newly-designed 5-spoke alloy wheels.

2022 KTM RC 125 & RC 200 – Features

Spy images reveal that the RC 200 will come with a fully digital instruments cluster similar to the Duke 390. But we suspect that the brand will offer a black & white screen similar to the KTM 250 Adventure to lower costs and increase economies of scale. Images of the dashboard of the KTM RC 125 are scarce. Speculation is that the one-eighth-litre entry-class model will come with the older-generation digital instruments cluster. The motorcycles will also come with new switch gears.

2022 KTM RC 125 & RC 200 – Ergonomics

The KTM RC 125 and RC 200 also get a new-shaped fuel tank with a larger capacity and mild tweaks to the tail section. Riders will benefit from a bubble style windscreen that will deflect wind keeping things aerodynamic. The new KTM RC series also gets ergonomic updates such as a much-relaxed rider’s triangle. The handlebars appear to have been mounted higher than before, and the footpegs appear slightly forward-set. The seating is also likely to come with new technical material, and the cushion is possibly softer than before. The pillion seat also features major updates.

2022 KTM RC 125 & RC 200 – Technical Specifications

Powering the KTM RC 125 is likely to be the same BS6 compliant 124.7cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC unit. The engine produces 14.5 PS of power. The RC 200 is also likely to carry over the same BS6 compliant 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine. The motor produces 25 PS of power on the current RC 200. The brand may tune the suspension on both the front and rear to match the new dynamics of the reworked chassis with a bolt-on subframe and match the new ergonomics.

2022 KTM RC 125 & RC 200 – Price & Launch Timeline

Both the KTM RC 125 and the RC 200 are likely to debut later this month. Currently, the RC 125 comes with a price tag of INR 1.8 lakh ex-showroom, and the RC 200 comes with a sticker price of INR 2.08 lakh ex-showroom. The new motorcycles will come with a similar sticker price range during the introductory period.
