Jeep is currently developing the sixth-generation of the Compass compact SUV. After recently releasing the design sketches online, the upcoming SUV test mule has been spotted overseas. Read more about it below.

New-gen Jeep Compass – What to expect?
As visible in the spy photo, the new boxy and aggressive design is visible on the front fascia of the test car. It has the signature Jeep vertical seven-slat grille and the new wraparound square LED lights along with a redesigned bumper.
Although not much is visible in the spy photo, the bigger size and more commanding stance can be seen upfront. The new-gen Compass is going to use the SLTA medium platform which has been specifically developed to accommodate multiple powertrain options.
Speaking of the engine options, the European market will get a bunch of hybrids including mild and plug-in hybrid petrol engine options. Additionally, a BEV iteration with an AWD system will also be sold alongside the ICE variants.
This particular test car is speculated to be the BEV as per the photographer. Due to its covered grille design and the bumper covers, we also agree to it.
In terms of features, it will get a new dashboard with connected screens and wireless connectivity. The test car also has the ADAS radar and cameras, confirming the safety upgrades as well.
While the Indian-spec model has become outdated, the sad news is that this new-gen Compass is not coming to India. Jeep has scrapped the project stating it is commercially unviable to sustain in the domestic market.
However, the new Compass will be debuting in Europe in the second half of this year, later followed by its US launch.

Our verdict
The Jeep Compass has been a successful SUV model in select global markets including Europe and South Asia. However, the Indian market did not accept it well due to its premium pricing and hefty maintenance costs.
