Written by News Team

Key highlights

  • Aprilia SR 175 features a more powerful 174.7cc engine, replacing the SR 160.
  • Gets a new colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, lifted from the RS 457.
  • Priced at iNR 1.31 lakh (ex-showroom), matching the outgoing SR 160’s base price.

Aprilia has quietly begun dispatching the new SR 175 to dealerships across India, signaling the arrival of a more powerful and tech-savvy successor to the SR 160. While the company has been focused on its RS and Tuono 457 twins, the SR 175 has slipped into showrooms without much fanfare—but with plenty to talk about.

Engine and performance

The SR 175 is powered by a 174.7cc, air-cooled, 3-valve, single-cylinder engine. Dealer sources confirm it produces 12.92 hp at 7,200 rpm and 14.14 Nm at 6,000 rpm, which is a noticeable bump over the SR 160’s 11.27 hp and 13.44 Nm.

The scooter retains the same underpinnings as the SR 160, including:

  • 14-inch alloy wheels with 120-section tyres
  • Front disc brake with single-channel ABS
  • Rear drum brake

Tech and features

One of the biggest upgrades is the new colour TFT display, borrowed from the RS and Tuono 457. It offers:

  • Multiple layout options
  • Bluetooth connectivity via the Aprilia app
  • Call and notification alerts
  • Music playback support

This is a major leap from the dated LCD unit seen on the SR and SXR models.

Design and colours

Visually, the SR 175 remains identical to the SR 160, with its sharp, sporty bodywork and aggressive stance. However, it now comes in new colour schemes inspired by the RS 457, including:

  • White/Red
  • Purple/Red

These shades add a fresh visual punch to an already striking design.

Pricing and positioning

The SR 175 is priced at INR 1.31 lakh (ex-showroom) as per dealer sources. This price is on par with the outgoing SR 160’s base variant. This is likely an introductory price, and could see a revision once the official launch is announced.
