Nagpur’s way to beat the heat & control traffic

Written by Tejen Dhankhar

Commuting in this hot summer is a problem for every motorist. Nagpur seems to have found a way to help commuters beat the heat, and also, make them follow traffic rules. Nagpur local authorities have come to the help of several commuters by installing green tarpaulin covers at signals.

Due to the heat, and long intervals at signals, many motorists used to jump a red light. This not only resulted in bad traffic situation, but also a risk to the commuters life. Now, this green tarpaulin cover is offering some shade for commuters who will be waiting at signals. This will give them a break from riding under the hot sun and get some shade while the signal is on.

Riding in temperatures above 44 degree is not really an easy task, and this should really comfort those on the streets. Even those in cars would get their AC perform a little better & cooler when under the shade.

This inexpensive jugaad is a very unique step to ensure traffic rules being followed.

Let’s hope something similar is done during monsoon.
