Land Rover has refreshed the Discovery Sport lineup for the 2026 model year, introducing new trims, upgraded technology, and premium features. The Dynamic SE and Dynamic HSE variants have been replaced by Landmark and Metropolitan editions, while the entry-level S trim has been rebranded as Dynamic S2.
New trims and design enhancements
The Landmark Edition pays tribute to the Discovery nameplate’s 35-year legacy, featuring:
- Mountain-range logo on tread plates, inspired by the original 1989 Discovery.
- Panoramic sunroof and roof rails, enhancing practicality.
- 3D surround-view camera system, improving visibility.
- Click & Go tablet holders, adding rear-seat convenience.
The Metropolitan Edition, positioned as the flagship trim, boasts:
- Atlas Silver Discovery lettering on the bonnet and tailgate.
- Indus Silver-finished front and rear skid plates.
- 20-inch diamond-turned multi-spoke alloy wheels, optionally available in Gloss Black.
- 14-way electrically adjustable heated and cooled Windsor leather seats.
- 650W Meridian Surround Sound System with 14 speakers.
- Cabin Air Purification Plus, ensuring a cleaner interior environment.
Technology and interior upgrades
The Discovery Sport lineup now features:
- 11.4-inch curved touchscreen, running the latest Pivi Pro infotainment system.
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, eliminating the need for cables.
- Fully digital instrument cluster, enhancing driver convenience.
- Steering-mounted paddle shifters, adding a sporty touch.
Powertrain and hybrid Options
Mechanically, the Discovery Sport remains unchanged, offering Ingenium petrol and diesel engines with plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and mild-hybrid technology. The PHEV variant combines a petrol engine with an electric motor and a 15 kWh battery, delivering 265 bhp and up to 58 km of electric-only range.
Market position and availability
Land Rover has confirmed that the MY26 Discovery Sport will arrive in India by early 2026, competing with BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Volvo XC60.
