JSW MG Motor India has officially launched the MY25 MG Astor, positioning it as “The Blockbuster SUV.” With a starting price of INR 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated Astor lineup brings a host of new features and enhancements, aimed at offering premium experiences at competitive prices.
MY25 MG Astor – what’s new?
The highlight of the launch is the Shine variant, which now comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof. Priced under INR 12.5 lakh (ex-showroom), this makes the Astor Shine the most affordable SUV in its segment to offer this sought-after feature. Additionally, the Select variant now includes six airbags and premium ivory leatherette seats, further enhancing safety and comfort.
MY25 MG Astor – No change in powertrains
The MY25 MG Astor retains its two engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 110 bhp, paired with either a 5-speed manual or CVT, and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 140 bhp, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. While the powertrains remain unchanged, the feature updates make the Astor even more appealing to buyers.
Features and design retained
The SUV continues to offer a range of advanced features, including ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an auto-dimming IRVM. The updated i-SMART 2.0 system provides over 80 connected features, ensuring a seamless and tech-savvy driving experience. The Astor also boasts Level-2 ADAS, which includes lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking, among other safety features.
In terms of design, the Astor retains its bold and contemporary styling, with a striking front grille, LED headlamps, and sleek body lines. The addition of the panoramic sunroof in the Shine variant adds a touch of luxury, making it an attractive choice for buyers seeking premium features at an affordable price.
