Tata Motors has introduced new features for the 2024 model year of its entry-level electric vehicle, the Tata Tiago.EV. This update comes at no extra cost and is expected to enhance the appeal of the electric hatchback.
MY24 Tata Tiago.EV – What’s New?
The 2024 Tata Tiago.EV now comes with an auto-dimming Inside Rear-View Mirror (IRVM) and a USB Type C charging port. The auto-dimming IRVM is available in the top-spec ‘XZ+ Tech Lux’ trim, while the USB Type C charging port is available in all variants starting from XZ+ onwards.
In addition to these, all variants of the Tiago.EV now come with a new gear selector knob. On the exterior, a new 2D Tata logo can be found all around.
Powertrain and Pricing
The Tiago.EV is available with two battery packs – a 19.2 kWh battery offering a range of up to 250 km and a 24 kWh unit with a maximum range of 315 km. The EV is powered by a single electric motor that produces 60 BHP and 105 Nm, while the larger battery comes with a more powerful motor that puts out 74 BHP and 114 Nm.
The electric hatchback is priced from INR 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Despite the addition of new features, the prices of the Tiago.EV remain unchanged.
Tiago.EV Market Standing
The Tata Tiago.EV is one of the most affordable electric vehicles in the market right now. As of Feb 2024, Tata has sold close to 35 thousand units of the Tiago.EV. It does not have a competitor in the vehicle segment. In the price segment, its only competitor is the MG Comet EV which starts at INR 6.99 lakh. The Comet EV is a smaller, two-door car that comes with a smaller battery. However, in terms of features, it does trump the Tiago EV.
