Kawasaki India shocased the new Ninja ZX-6R at IBW in Dec. They have now launched the motorcycle at a price of ₹11.09 Lakh ex-showroom. The MY24 Ninja ZX-6R has finally got the BS6 Phase 2 updates. The new Ninja is roughly ₹60,000/- dearer than the one it replaces.
Ninja ZX-6R Updates
In terms of design, the 6R borrows design cues from its elder sibling, the Ninja ZX-10R. It looks more aggressive than before and has fresh graphics. The new powertrain is BS6 compliant and comes with a 636 cc in-line four that produces 128 bhp and 69 Nm of torque. The motor is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quick-shifter. The motorcycle now has multiple riding modes. The LCD display has been replaced by a colour TFT display which also gets bluetooth connectivity.
The motorcycle weighs 198 kg and is built around a perimeter frame. At the front, it gets Showa SFF- Big Piston forks and at the rear the link-type mono-shock. The front wheels get dual 310 mm discs with radially mounted Nissin calipers, and the rear gets a single 220 mm disc. The 2024 Kawasaki ZX-6R will also get Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System and Traction Control for safety.
The motorcycle will be available in two colours – Metallic Graphite Grey and Lime Green.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is a good choice for someone upgrading from a 250 cc-400 cc motorcycle. The performance should be more than enough for Indian roads. Also, if you are someone who is not ready to handle a litre-class bike, this one should be a perfect choice. The only other option in this segment is the Aprilia RS 660 which is about ₹2-lakh more expensive. However, it has a little more power than the Ninja.
