Hyundai India is gearing up to launch the facelifted version of its popular mid-size SUV, the Alcazar, in just a few weeks. The MY24 Hyundai Alcazar facelift is expected to hit the Indian market by September 2024, aligning with the festive season.

Design and Exterior Updates

The facelifted Alcazar will feature several design tweaks to distinguish it from its predecessor. The front fascia is expected to sport a new grille and bumper design, while the split headlamp setup will likely remain unchanged. The side profile will see new alloy wheel designs and updated side claddings. At the rear, the Alcazar will receive a completely redesigned tailgate with new-look tail-lights that incorporate both vertical and horizontal elements.

Interior and Features

Inside, the Alcazar facelift will carry forward the twin-screen setup from the Creta facelift, providing a modern and tech-savvy dashboard layout. The SUV will continue to offer both 6- and 7-seater configurations. New features such as a heads-up display and memory functions for the driver’s seat are expected to be included. Additionally, the Alcazar facelift will come equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), enhancing safety and convenience for the driver.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the facelifted Alcazar will retain the existing engine options. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, producing 160hp and 253Nm of torque, will be available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre diesel engine, delivering 116hp and 250Nm of torque, will continue to be offered with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Market Position and Pricing

The Hyundai Alcazar facelift is set to compete with other mid-size SUVs like the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, and Toyota Innova Hycross. The current Alcazar is priced between INR 16.78 lakh and INR 21.28 lakh (ex-showroom), and the facelifted version is expected to be slightly more expensive.
