Yamaha is reportedly getting ready to launch their MY23 YZF-R3 sports bike in the Indian market. This would mean that the quarter-litre segment sportsbike is coming back to India after a long gap, but a launch timeline is not confirmed as of now. The MY23 Yamaha R3 motorcycle now comes in a new purple paint scheme along with LED indicators. Apart from that, the bike remains more or less unchanged.
MY23 Yamaha R3 Specifications:
Powering the Yamaha R3 is a 321cc, liquid-cooled, inline twin-cylinder, 4-stroke, DOHC petrol motor matched to a 6-speed gearbox. With a 180-degree crank design, this motor produces 42 PS of power @ 10750 RPM and 29.5 Nm of torque @ 9000 RPM. Yamaha claims a fuel economy of 4.1 litres / 100 km for the R3. The bike rides on a diamond frame and for stopping power, the R3 gets a single 298mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc coupled with a dual channel ABS safety feature. Suspension duty would be performed by KYB USD front fork and a rear monoshock.
Yamaha’s R3 has an accessible seat height of 780mm, weighs 169 kg, comes with a 14L fuel tank and has a ground clearance of 160mm. The R3 sold in India back in the day was the pre-facelift motorcycle.
MY23 Yamaha R3 Features:
The 2023 model year Yamaha R3 is only getting new LED turn indicators as an added feature. Everything else is carried over. This sportsbike comes with LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, full digital speedometer cluster, full fairing design, noteworthy front windscreen, split seat design, single exhaust end can, etc. We hope that the R3 when launched in India, gets bluetooth connectivity as the cheaper R15 gets this feature.
Yamaha’s R3 is a sportsbike but also an every day machine. The riding stance is not completely aggressive, so one can use this bike for touring as well. When launched in India, the Yamaha R3 will rival the likes of KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RR 310, BMW G 310 RR & Kawasaki Ninja 300 / 400.
