MY23 Hero MotoCorp Xtreme will get USD front forks

We are aware of the fact that the maximum of Hero’s sales come from budget commuters. This includes the likes of Splendor, Super Splendor, Passion, Glamour and likes. For the premium 160cc commuter space, Hero has Xtreme 160R offering. But sadly enough this particular motorcycle doesn’t sell in big numbers.

What Are The Changes We Could See With The Upcoming Hero Xtreme 160R?

But Hero is making some notable changes which will attract more customers. As we understand, the new Hero Xtreme 160R with USD forks could arrive soon. As per the latest test mules of Xtreme 160R, we see the motorcycle with USD front forks, thus making us believe that it might arrive soon. Apart from USD forks, customers will also get new colours to choose from. In fact, there are also certain design changes to incorporate an iterative change with 160R.

Key Features On Offer With Hero Xtreme 160R

There are a lot of good bits with the Hero Xtreme 160R. And hence, we will see these getting carried over to this upcoming update as well. To begin with, Hero Xtreme 160R gets a slew of features. This includes LED headlights, LED turn indicators, LED tail lights with smoked effect housing, hazard light function, fully digital instrument cluster with negative LCD and gear position indicator, muscular design and much more. Weighing at just 138 kg, this makes it one of the lightest motorcycles in this segment.

Mechanical Highlights

The equipped 163-cc single-cylinder engine makes 15 BHP of power and 14 Nm of torque, matched to a 5-speed gearbox. As for the safety net, the motorcycle benefits from a single-channel ABS setup with rear optional disc brake. In addition to the USD front forks, Hero could add more. With the new suspension setup, the Hero Xtreme 160R USD variant could retail at a higher price of about INR 5k-10k.
