MY22 Renault Kiger – Powertrain

The MY22 Kiger gets no mechanical changes. Thus, it continues to use the same engine and gearbox combinations. The Kiger is available with two petrol engine options. Both the engines have a displacement of 1.0-litre. However, the ‘1.0L ENERGY’ is a naturally aspirated motor while the other gets a TURBO, as the name suggests.

The 999cc naturally aspirated 3-cylinder motor makes 72 PS of power at 6,250 rpm and 96 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. It comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed EASY-R AMT gearbox. On the other hand, is the TURBO. The 999cc 3-cylinder engine gets a turbocharger which helps it make 100 PS of power at 5,000 rpm and peak torque of 160 Nm from 2,800 to 3,600 rpm. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and an X-TRONIC CVT gearbox. With the CVT gearbox, the max torque output drops to 152 Nm. However, it makes that torque from 2,200 rpm to 4,400 rpm.

MY22 Renault Kiger – Dimensions
