XL6 Facelift Teased Ahead Of Launch

Maruti Suzuki’s premium MPV is due for a facelift update that will arrive sometime by mid-2022. Update XL6’s significant change is the new 1.5-litre K15C DualJet petrol engine. The current iteration model gets the K15B 1.5-litre petrol motor. So what’s the difference? With the new motor, XL6 will now get 10 PS more power. The new motor will also churn out more kilometres per litre of petrol. In terms of gearbox options, customers will get the flexibility to choose from either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter. In terms of design, we will see a new front grille and a re-profiled front and rear bumper. We are also expecting XL6 to come with a larger set of alloys.

Furthermore, we might also get to see new colour options for the MPV. In the interiors, the XL6 will most likely get an updated dashboard and new upholstery. Other new additions include a wooden finish on the dash, a flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering wheel and chrome accents. There are chances that Maruti Suzuki might include a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 360° surround-view camera and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Safety features may include six airbags, ABS with EBD, engine immobiliser, electronic stability program with hill hold, reverse parking camera and sensors, high-speed alert system and likes.

MPV Segment Heating Up

With the launch of Carens, the three-row MPV segment is picking up pace. The sales figure for the Carens suggests that there are enough takers in the segment. With the updated XL6 coming into the market, we will see tough competition between the two.
