According to sources, Indian automotive giant Mahindra could be planning to introduce 16-inch alloy wheels on its renowned XUV300 sub-compact SUV in India. Launched in 2019, the Mahindra XUV300 is now awaiting its mid-life cycle facelift as its immediate rivals get their updates. Later this year, Hyundai will announce the Venue facelift along with Maruti Suzuki and its updated Brezza SUV. As Mahindra is working on the XUV300’s facelift, it has discreetly updated the 2022 XUV300 with new alloy wheels.
2022 Mahindra XUV300: Updates
Mahindra offers the 2022 XUV300 in 4 variants – W4, W6, W8, and W8(O), starting from INR 7.95 lakh (ex-showroom). However, for this year, the automaker has decided to reduce the SUV’s alloy wheel size from 17-inches to 16-inches. This downgrade in wheel sizes now allows the XUV300 to fall in line with its segment rivals in the segment. Due to the rise in initial costs, Indian OEMs had to increase the prices of all their models every quarter.
Therefore, Mahindra’s decision to implement smaller sized wheels will help them save costs and improve the XUV300’s overall efficiency. Additionally, the automaker has also reduced the width of the tyres from 215 to 205 to fit the 16-inch wheels. Introduced on the top-spec trims, the W8(O) gets dual-tone alloy wheels, whereas the W8 gets simple silver-coloured wheels. Reports also suggest that Mahindra has deleted the passenger-side keyless entry, rear centre armrest and cup holders from top-spec trims.
