KTM recently launched the RC 125 and RC 200 in the Indian market. Now, the brand is gearing up to launch the new KTM RC 390, the brand’s flagship sports series motorcycle. This is evident from the type-approval documents that have emerged on the internet, which also reveal the specification of the upcoming motorcycle. The KTM RC 390 also comes with the latest technological features, aerodynamics and ergonomics.

2022 KTM RC 390 – Type-Approval Documents

According to type-approval documents, the 2022 KTM RC 390 comes with a 373.27cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC 4-valve engine. The BS6 compliant engine produces 42.9 Hp of power at 9,000 rpm. The motor is also likely to produce around 37 Nm of torque and a 6-speed gearbox. Reports suggest that the powertrain comes with improved air-flow, better cooling a PASC (slipper clutch) and a quickshifter. The suspension and brakes on the new RC 390 are also likely to be upgraded. In the international market, the new RC 390 comes with an adjustable front suspension. However, the India-spec model may not get the features to keep costs in check.

2022 KTM RC 390 – Design and Features

The new KTM RC 390 draws inspiration from the KTM RC 16 racebike. The motorcycle features a new front fascia with an LED cluster headlamp and sharp features along with a double bubble windscreen. The bike also comes with aerodynamic fairings and a sharp tail section. The motorcycle also comes with a new 13.7-litre fuel tank. The brand has also improved the handlebar and seat ergonomics of the new motorcycle. Riders can also adjust the handlebar by 10mm in height and backwards and forwards for reach. The new RC 390 will also come with a new digital dashboard which is likely to be similar to the KTM 390 Duke. The bike is also likely to introduce features such as traction control, Supermoto ABS, new switchgear and Bluetooth connectivity.
