KTM recently launched the new-generation KTM RC 390 and RC 125 in the international markets. Now the brand has revealed the MY22 KTM RC 200 in the global markets. Owing to the brand’s popularity in India, the motorcycle will undoubtedly arrive in India in the near future. Compared to the outgoing model, the MY22 KTM RC 200 comes with a new chassis, upgraded electronics, new bodywork and graphics, as well as new ergonomics.
MY22 KTM RC 200 – Design Highlights
The new KTM RC 200 comes with a design inspired by the KTM RC16 MotoGP machine. The motorcycle comes with a completely new front fascia that now features a single headlamp unit. The brand has also extensively worked in the aerodynamics department, and the bike features a new bubble-style windscreen that protects the rider from the wind and weather. The bike also gets new mirrors and body integrated signal lamps. The bike also gets a new fuel tank design with a larger capacity and knee recesses. The side fairings feature hot air extractors that draw air away from the engine. The tail section comes with a sharp design and new seats.
MY22 KTM RC 200 – Ergonomics
The KTM RC 200 features new seats for both the rider and pillion. The seat covers get a new technical material and clip-on handlebars that offer a more comfortable ride. The bike also comes with rear-set footrests that enable the rider to go deep into the corner with confidence. KTM has also upgraded the seat cushion on the pillion seat, offering more comfort. The bike also comes with a new lighter chassis, a bolt-on subframe and alloy wheels.
MY22 KTM RC 200 – Engine & Mechanicals
Powering the KTM RC 200 is a Euro5 compliant 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. The DOHC motor continues to produce 25.8 PS of power and 19.5 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike now comes with a new lighter chassis, a bolt-on subframe and new 17-inch 5 -spoke alloy wheels. The motorcycle rides on 43mm WP APEX big piston forks on the front and an adjustable monoshock on the rear.
MY22 KTM RC 200 – Launch Timeline
The brand is likely to launch the MY 22 KTM RC 200 in the Indian market by September 2021. The motorcycle is likely to come with a price tag of INR 2.10 lakh ex-showroom.
