MY22 KTM RC 125 India-spec details leak

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Ahead of the launch of the 2022 India-spec RC 125, few details of the motorcycles have been leaked. Sources reveal that the RC 125 will get a 124.7-cc power unit that makes 14.5 BHP and 12 Nm, the same as the outgoing model. Another vital point to note is that the motorcycle’s wheelbase is now 6 mm longer. RC 125 has already made its global debut. It makes use of a trellis frame that helps in reducing the weight by 4.4 kg. Other key upgrades include a 5-inch TFT display that has Bluetooth connectivity and a larger 13.7-litre fuel tank. After the RC 125, KTM India will also launch the updated RC 200 and RC 390. Bookings for all three models are already open at several dealerships across the country.

Key Updates To The 2022 Model

All the 2022 RC models are now based on a new platform that makes them lighter. The architecture makes use of a trellis frame with a bolt-on rear subframe. This enhances the high-speed stability and provides more control to the rider. The suspension setup remains the same, i.e. a 43mm USD forks at the front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock unit at the rear.

Moreover, the braking setup is also the same for all three models. This makes use of a 320mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear. These are larger than the outgoing model and, at the same time, are lighter by almost 960 grams. All three models get a new alloy wheel design that reduces the weight by 3.4 kg for the RC 125 and RC 390 and 1 kg for the RC 200.

Other Details

The front fascia of all three models are now updated with a single LED headlamp, integrated neatly with LED DRLs. The changes include an updated fuel tank, revised tail section, redesigned front fairing and new body graphics. The use of wider fairings gives the motorcycles a more aggressive overall look.
