India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd. announces the launch of the all-new MY22 Z650RS. The Retrovolution motorcycle is available with two new colours – Candy Emerald Green and Metallic Moondust Gray. The motorcycle maker has also confirmed that the price for the Z650RS starts from INR 6,65,000 (ex-showroom). This is costlier than the Z650, by almost INR 41,000 and INR 4,000 more than the Ninja 650. Its closest rival, Triumph Trident, gets a sticker price of INR 6.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand also announced that the deliveries for the bike will start from November end or early December 2021. Customers wanting to get one can get all the price related details like the estimated on-road price on the price estimator tab on the website.

What Is The Z650RS?

The Z650RS is a retro styled motorcycle that comes with a very capable hardware setup. In terms of styling, the Z650RS draws its inspiration from its Z900RS sibling. Both the motorcycles get a very familiar outlook.  The design highlights of the Z650RS includes a smart-looking round LED headlight crowned by twin-pod instrumentation. The square-shaped fuel tank does look quirky and integrates neatly into the side panels. The multi-spoke wheels look pretty clean and do add to the retro look of the motorcycle. The Candy Emerald Green colour option gets golden finish spokes. Meanwhile, the Metallic Moondust Gray shade gets black alloy wheels.

Mechanicals and Hardware

Powering the motorcycle is a 649cc parallel-twin engine that makes 68 HP of power and 64 Nm of torque. Kawasaki claims that they have tweaked the engine to make it more responsive at low and mid-range. The chassis also remains the same, a trellis frame, and gets the support of a 41mm telescopic fork up front and preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear. One of the main USPs of this motorcycle is its lightweight that aids in improving its performance. Braking power comes from twin 300mm discs at the front and a single 220 mm disc at the rear. The equipped gearbox is a 6-speed unit.
