Kawasaki India has launched the all-new BS6 compliant MY 2021 Kawasaki Versys 650 in the Indian market at the price of INR 6.79 lakh ex-showroom. Kawasaki positions the MY21 Versys 650 in the middleweight adventure tourer segment and the Versys 650 will be available in a single ‘Candy Lime Green’ colour and is targeted towards riders who enjoy Nature, Journey, Travel and Exploration.

The MY21 Kawasaki Versys 650 is powered by a BS6 emission-compliant 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with fuel injection technology that produces 66 PS of power and 61 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The new engine comes with a number of changes to the intake and exhaust system components to achieve BS6 conformity and the brand claims that the new BS6 standard engine develops more torque in the mid-range while maintaining the power of the previous model.

In terms of design and styling, the MY21 Kawasaki Versys 650 features classic adventure tourer styling with a large aerodynamic front for maximum air deflection, an adjustable windscreen with a 60 mm range of motion for wind & weather protection, twin split headlamps, a wide handlebar with upright riding position, large 21-litres capacity fuel tank that enables longer range and the tank is shorter so that the rider can position himself closer to the handlebar enabling greater control and a gear indicator on the digital-analogue instrumentation.

The Kawasaki Versys 650 also features a high-tensile steel diamond frame that rides on 41 mm upside-down telescopic fork with adjustable rebound damping and adjustable preload with 150mm of wheel travel, offset laydown monoshock with remote spring preload adjustability and 145 mm of wheel travel, twin 300mm semi-floating petal discs with 2-piston callipers on the front and single 250 mm petal disc with a single-piston calliper on the rear. The Kawasaki Versys 650 comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, has a tall 840mm of seat height and tips the scale at 218 kg at the kerb.

The MY2021 Kawasaki Versos 650 can be booked via the Kawasaki official website in India through the brand’s contactless digital channel.
