MV Agusta reveals Dragster SCS Reparto Corse, only 300 units

Written by Rohit Tonapi

MV Agusta has revealed the three Reparto Corse limited edition motorcycles for 2022. These are – the F3 RC, the Dragster RC SCS and the Turismo Veloce RC SCS. Thus, all the 800cc inline-three models from the Italian bikemaker get the RC treatment. RC, which stands for Reparto Corse, is Italian for Racing Department. The new RC versions bring exclusive livery and a few updates. MV Agusta will produce only 300 units of the 2022 Dragster SCS RC. The brand will number all of them, and they will also come with a certificate of authenticity from the brand. Let’s take a closer look at the Dragster SCS RC.

MV Agusta Dragster SCS RC – Highlights

The RC version of the Dragster SCS comes with an exclusive livery. New additions include a new friction-reducing titanium nitride (TiN) coating on the 43 mm Marzocchi forks. Unlike the other Dragster variants that get spoked aluminium wheels, the RC gets forged wheels which help reduce unsprung mass. Furthermore, the use of carbon fibre enhances the look as well as keeps the weight down.

Powering the bike is a 798cc three-cylinder engine. The liquid-cooled 12-valve motor makes 140 HP at 12,300 rpm and 87 Nm of torque at 10,250 rpm. The RC version of the Dragster’s 6-speed gearbox also comes with MV Agusta’s Smart Clutch System 2.0 (SCS). It also gets MV EAS 3.0 (Electronically Assisted Shift Up & Down). MV Agusta claims the bike can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.55 seconds and 0 to 200 kmph in 10.10 seconds. Meanwhile, the top speed is 244 kmph, claims MV Agusta.

Additionally, it is also available with a Racing Kit. The kit includes an SC Project titanium exhaust system with optimised engine mapping and a transparent clutch cover. The exhaust reduces the weight by 8 kg, bringing the dry weight down from 168 kg to 160 kg. Furthermore, it also bumps up the power from 140 HP to 150 HP at 12,800 rpm.
