MV Agusta has updated the retro supersport model the MV Agusta Superveloce. The brand has not only given the motorcycle a Euro-compliant engine but the Superveloce now also comes with a new ‘S’ iteration. The sportier Superveloce ‘S’ comes with the same engine but enhancements in terms of equipment a unique paint theme and additional equipment along with the option of race parts.
Powertrain
Powering the MV Agusta Superveloce is a 798cc three-cylinder four-stroke 12-valve DOHC motor with liquid-cooling and electronic fuel injection that produces 147 HP of power and 88 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a cassette-style 6-speed transmission and is now equipped with MV EAS 3.0 (Electronically Assisted Shift Up & Down) instead of the 2.1 version in the predecessor. Even after Euro5 specification for emission norms, the brand has managed to retain the power and the motorcycle still weighs 173 kg at the kerb. MV Agusta also claims that the Superveloce can do a top speed of 240 kmph. The engine also features DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) tappet, Titanium Intake and exhaust valves etc.
Mechanical Hardware
Apart from the powertrain the Superveloce and Superveloce S also feature the same mechanical hardware such as the ALS tubular steel trellis frame, 43mm Marzocchi upside-down front forks with rebound-compression damping and spring preload adjustment, Progressive Sachs fully adjustable monoshock on a single-sided swingarm at the rear.
Electronics Package
The electronics package includes a 5.5-inch colour display with Bluetooth, GPS, MV Ride App for navigation mirroring, app-controlled engine, and rider aids setup. The motorcycle also comes with a full ride by wire Mikuni throttle body, MVICS 2.1 (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) with six injectors and an Eldor Nemo 2.1 engine control unit. The motor also comes with Torque control with four maps, Traction Control with eight levels of intervention, Cruise control and Launch control.
Superveloce ‘S’ Exclusive Features
The Superveloce S gets Alcantara rider and passenger seat cover, a Racing Kit box which includes a 3 exit racing exhaust system from Arrow, Dedicated maps, a rear seat cowl, Front and Rear spoked wheels etc.
