Luxury car dealership Big Boy Toyz recently organized an online auction for its vintage classic cars on December 19th, 2021. The e-auction witnessed tremendous interest and participation for the 19 exclusive cars from celebrities and automobile collectors in India. Big Boy Toyz’s flagship showroom at Gurgaon showcased the cars from brands like Rolls Royce, Cadillac, Buick, Chevrolet, and Land Rover. Other brands like Austin, Mercedes-Benz, and others also made their appearance at the auction as part of the renowned collection.

The Auction 

The auction showcased the iconic Volkswagen Beetle that started at INR 1 and went up to INR 25 lakhs. Alongside the new clients participating in the auction were first-time car buyers who had no experience of buying vintage cars. The biggest highlight of the auction was renowned cricketer MS Dhoni who participated and purchased a 1971 Land Rover 3. Overall, there was a high amount of interest and response showcased by participants, with 50% of the total stock being sold.

BBT’s Future Plans 

Big Boy Toyz India stated that the auctioning of vintage and classic cars is a multi-billion dollar global industry. It claims to be the first company to introduce the concept in an organized and efficient manner in India. BBT also commented that the auction targets Indian car enthusiasts and private collectors who adore classic and vintage cars. The brand plans to expand its business across the country and enhance its portfolio of Vintage and Classic Cars.

By aiming to expand to an INR 100 crore vertical in the coming years, BBT plans to create an online platform. Interested customers and collectors can then participate in fresh online auctioning to find their desired vintage and classic cars. BBT has also announced that it will host the auction every 2 months, with the next one in February 2022. Each auction will host a new inventory of vintage and classic cars, with bidders being offered 2 premium plans.

Participants can select the Enthusiasts Plan, which costs INR 1 lakh, wherein they can only bid on 2 cars. Meanwhile, the Connoisseur Plan costs INR 2 lakh, where participants can bid on 4 cars with no upper limit values. BBT is also one of the first automotive companies to offer online auctioning of vintage and classic cars in India. The company ensures to evaluate all the auctioned vintage and classic cars by conducting assured quality checks via experts.
