Moto Morini unveils XCape 1200 adventure bike

Written by Kanad Kalasur

Last month, Moto Morini announced the launch of its Adventure bike, the X-Cape 650X, in the Indian market. Now, the Italian marquee brand has announced an even bigger adventure bike called as the XCape 1200.

Back at the 2022 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy, Moto Morini has revealed a new version of the X-Cape 650 motorcycle. The ADV-R is an off-road focused version of the bike and is a more extreme rally version of the X-Cape adventure tourer.

Design of the Moto Morini XCape 1200

From the images, it is clear where the design inspiration for this larger bike has come from. The XCape 1200 borrows its main design elements from its smaller 650cc sibling. From the sides, its gets the same tall posture, angular fascia and large windscreen. Even the panels on the bike are bigger in size. This leads the bike to a formidable road presence.

One can also notice that the bike gets 21-inch front wheels and 18-inch rear wheels. Both the rims are shod in Pirelli Scorpion STR tyres. Brakes are sourced from Brembo and are of the Stylema variety.

Further details on the bike have yet to be discovered, but the company should be sharing the same in the near future.

Powertrain of the Moto Morini XCape 1200

Not many details are known about the 1,200cc unit that is expected to be offered in the XCape 1200. The engine looks like an older motor that has been updated for newer emission norms. It is, however, certain that the bike will meet the Euro 5 emission norms.

Launch and Availability of the Moto Morini XCape 1200

While more details are awaited, it doesn’t look like the bike will be coming to our shores any time soon. The bigger 1200cc motorcycle could be a difficult sell in the Indian market, with limited volumes expected from this category.
