Morris Garages ZS EV scored five-star rating in Euro NCAP crash test

MG Motor India has opened bookings for the ZS EV electric SUV for INR 50,000. Now, ahead of the official launch, building on a positive momentum is the crash test safety report from Euro NCAP. MG ZS EV has been granted a top 5-star crash test score and this should help generate more faith in the brand. The MG ZS EV is dubbed as an pure electric internet car for the Indian market, and the launch is slated in January 2020. The ZS EV, also known as eZS in some markets is already available on display at MG Motor India showrooms.

The MG ZS EV has scored 90% in adult occupant safety, 85% in child occupant safety, 64% in pedestrian safety and 70% in safety assistance features in the car. Point to noted, the car tested was the left-hand-drive ZS EV electric SUV in a 5-door variant and had kerb weight of 1491 kg.

Features which were included on the crash tested MG ZS EV were dual front airbags, seat belt pretensioner with load limiter, side airbags, pelvis airbag, ISOFIX, seat belt reminder, AEB pedestrian + cyclist + city + inter-urban safety, speed assistance and lane assist.

Euro NCAP has clearly stated that this crash test rating applies to both the Excite & Exclusive 4×2 variants of the MG ZS EV in left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive versions.

Powering the MG ZS EV is a 44.5 kWh battery back delivering a range of 340 km on a full charge. The ZS EV produces 143 PS of power and 353 Nm of torque matched to an automatic gearbox and it can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 8.5 seconds.

MG Motor India will be handing over the ZS EV at a special price for the first 1000 customers.
