Toyota has revealed more details about their collaboration with Maruti Suzuki, or to say, Suzuki Motor Corporation here in India. We all know that both brands are working together to share their star products with the other brand, which will then launched rebadged variants in our market. Toyota and Suzuki have now revealed specific details on product development for the near future.

What we are sharing below is the India-specific plan. There is more than this in pipeline for the global market.

  • Toyota will help procure HEV – Hybrid Electric Vehicle tech for Maruti Suzuki here in India which will include local systems, batteries and engine components.
  • Maruti Suzuki will share the Ciaz & Ertiga to Toyota, which Toyota will rebadge, rework and launch as an all-new car in their showrooms.
  • Toyota will jointly develop a new C-segment MPV for India which will slot below the Innova. For size reference, consider the Mahindra Marrazo. This car will also be supplied to Maruti Suzuki which will be rebadged and positioned above the Ertiga.
  • Toyota will start manufacturing the reworked, rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza from 2022 onwards. This will allow Toyota to enter the Compact-SUV space.

Both companies will continue to compete with each other when it comes to overall market share in the Indian car market.
