- Montra Electric launches the Super Cargo electric three-wheeler with up to 200+ km certified range
- Prices start at INR 4.37 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru, post-subsidy)
- Offers 15-minute full charging on select variants via Exponent Energy
Montra Electric, the clean mobility arm of the Murugappa Group, has rolled out its latest electric three-wheeler—Super Cargo—in Bengaluru. This marks the brand’s formal entry into the last-mile cargo mobility space after earlier ventures in passenger 3Ws and mid-mile heavy-duty EVs.
The Super Cargo is no ordinary e-three-wheeler. It comes equipped with a category-leading 13.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, a peak power output of 11 kW, and 70 Nm of torque. On the road, it promises a real-world range of 170 km and claims a certified range of over 200 km—figures that should ease range anxiety for most B2B delivery operators.
Charging gets a boost
In a segment-first move, Montra is offering a 15-minute full charge option on select variants of the Super Cargo. This ultra-fast charging, enabled by a partnership with Exponent Energy, is available on Tray eQX and 170 cu.ft eQX d+ variants. It’s designed to appeal to businesses that can’t afford vehicle downtime—especially those running high-frequency delivery schedules.
Built tough, built smart
The Super Cargo rides on a Boron Steel chassis, offering higher durability than the average segment player. A long wheelbase allows for better cabin space and a wider 6.2-foot load tray—ideal for e-commerce, FMCG, and cold chain applications. Add to that segment-leading safety features like disc brakes, hill hold, reverse assist, and regenerative braking, and you’ve got a package that ticks the usability and safety boxes.
Three body types are on offer: a flat Tray deck, 140 cu.ft closed box, and a larger 170 cu.ft box. Customers can also pick from four colour options—Chilli Red, Steel Grey, Indian Blue, and Stallion Brown.
Targeted for the working class hero
Priced from INR 4.37 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru, post-subsidy), the Super Cargo is clearly aimed at fleet owners and entrepreneurs. Montra claims to offer the best-in-class 5-year or 1.75 lakh km battery warranty. The brand is already present in over 90 cities through exclusive showrooms and is planning further expansion to ensure nationwide uptime support.
Competitors in sight
The Super Cargo goes up against other electric cargo players like the Mahindra Treo Zor, Piaggio Ape E-Xtra FX, and Euler HiLoad. While competitors offer decent utility, Montra’s mix of high range, strong build quality, and lightning-fast charging could be a strong differentiator—especially in metro and tier-2 logistics ecosystems.
