The side profile of the new-gen model remains aggressive yet functional. Although it does not have seamless flush-type door handles, the overall persona from the side is sporty.

The rear profile has an upright boot design with the new connected LED taillights that are inspired by the Cyberster sportscar. The rear-end design has also undergone a complete makeover.

With the new-gen model, the MG4 has grown in size. It is now 108 mm longer, 6 mm wider, and 35 mm taller than the outgoing version. At 4,395 mm, it will be competing with the Hyundai Creta Electric globally.

As of now, MG has not revealed the complete battery and specifications details, but what is known is that it is powered by a 161 bhp single electric motor. Moreover, it can reach up to a top speed of 160 km/h.

This is less than the outgoing model, as it produced 169 bhp of peak power on the standard variant. The outgoing model was also offered with a 4WD variant with a 422 bhp dual-motor setup.

MG4 EV – Is it coming to India?

MG has not revealed the debut timelines for the other countries besides China. As of now, the new MG4 will debut soon at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show. The European market will receive the new model by late 2025.

However, considering the fact that MG has brought its EVs to India and has plans to bring more cars soon, we can safely assume that the MG4 can debut on Indian soil in 2026.

If so, it will rival the Hyundai Creta Electric and even its own sibling, the MG Windsor.

Our verdict

The new MG4 EV has brought a fresh flair of change to its exterior design. It is expected to offer more comfort and luxury along with better performance to customers. MG will debut the new EV in the global markets by late 2025 or early 2026.
