MG ZS EV will have Benedict Cumberbatch as the brand ambassador

Morris Garages is starting to create buzz for their upcoming car for the Indian market. This would be the 2nd product in India by MG, and the ZS EV electric SUV will be a rival to the Hyundai Kona. The Hyundai Kona has been very well received by the Indian audience, and even the government agencies want this electric SUV. Morris Garages has already started working on the electric charging infrastructure for the ZS EV and the car will be launched in early-2020.

MG Motor India has today announced that Hollywood actor Benedict Cumberbatch will be the face and ambassador for the ZS EV. The actor was associated with MG during the launch of the Hector SUV as well, and continues to highlight that MG is a British car brand. The ZS EV is also known as the eZS is some markets and it will be an all-electric SUV. However, the brand is also considering petrol and hybrid engine options to lure in more customers. There could be a 1.5L petrol which will be naturally aspirated along with a new 1.0L petrol with hybrid engine on offer. Point to note, these same engines are already available on the MG ZS is markets abroad.

The MG ZS EV electric SUV is expected to make use of a battery pack of 44.5 kWh and have a 150 HP electric motor. This car is expected to deliver 262 km of driving range on a full charge, which is less than the Hyundai Kona for sure, but Morris Garages might be targeting a cheaper price tag.

In UK, Morris Garages retails the ZS EV in Excite and Exclusive variants priced between 25,000 – 27,000 pounds. The MG ZS EV will come with driving modes such as Eco, Normal and Sport along with an automatic gearbox to make things easy to live with. This SUV will also offer steering modes such as Urban, Normal and Dynamic for better feel and feedback to the driver.
