MG made a splash at the Goodwood Festival of Speed by introducing several exciting new models. Of all the Cyberster took all the spotlight. The company remained secretive about the details. But SAIC Motor revealed that the roadster would first arrive in China before hitting international markets the following year.
What Is The MG Cyberster Like?
According to leaked documents, the entry-level Cyberster model might feature a rear-mounted electric motor producing 310 HP (231 kW / 314 PS). However, the lineup won’t stop there, as an all-wheel drive variant is also in the works. This will make a combined output of 537 HP (400 kW / 544 PS). To cater to different driving needs, the Cyberster might come with battery pack options of 64 and 77 kWh. Thus, offering impressive ranges between 311 and 360 miles (501 and 580 km) on a single charge.
Things To Know About The EX4
While MG kept quiet about the EX4 concept, it was revealed to be based on the MG4 XPower and specially designed to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Metro 6R4. The EX4 gets several aggressive styling elements. This includes a sizable front spoiler, extended fenders, and eye-catching side skirts. The concept’s appearance is further enhanced by a striking livery, a massive rear wing, and a large diffuser. The vehicle also features a quick-release hood, a roll cage, and wheel covers.
Although specific technical details were scarce, MG hinted that the EX4 concept shares the MG4 XPower’s incredibly potent electric drivetrain. It will most likely equip a dual-motor all-wheel drive system. Thus, delivering an impressive 429 HP (320 kW / 435 PS) and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. This power enables the road-going model to achieve a rapid 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of 3.8 seconds.
The Road Ahead For MG Seems Quite Interesting
Overall, MG’s showcase at the Goodwood Festival of Speed promises an electrifying future for the brand. With the Cyberster and EX4 concept leading the charge in terms of innovation, power, and performance.
