MG Motor India have officially revealed at a press conference yesterday that their first product to launch in our country will be a SUV. This however won’t be a compact-SUV, but a mid-size car which will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta. While MG Motor didn’t share much about the product, we all know that this could be the MG ZS which is already on sale in markets abroad.

MG Motor revealed that the new SUV will have over 80% localised parts, and will come with class leading features.

As of now, the plant for the brand is nearing to be ready to roll out cars and MG Motor has received over 2,000 registrations from prospective dealers. MG Motor India is owned by SAIC. Their car production facility is set up at Halol. The existing Halol plant was reworked with a new press shop, new paint shop and other necessary amendments to suit MG Motor requirements.

MG Motor started accepting dealer entries from March 11, 2018.  MG Motor promises to launch one new product every year from 2019 onwards.

MG Motor currently employs 22% female employees at their plant.
