MG Motor India has announced its April 2022 sales report. The carmaker posted a total sales of 2,008 units for the given month. The production is not at its full capacity, thanks to the global supply chain disruption. The newly launched Astor is pulling in a significant number of customers to the showrooms. Other titles, namely Hector and Gloster, too, are selling in good numbers. MG India is keeping track of the rising cases on Covid-19 so as to align and alter its plans as and when required.

All-New MG ZS EV

With the growing demand for EVs in the market, MG updated its popular ZS EV. The new model gets significant updates that make the car even more popular in the electric mobility segment. The car has already racked up an average of 1,000 bookings per month. This speaks volumes of MG India’s dedication and customers’ trust in the brand. In addition to this, MG India recently announced its collaboration with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). As a part of this, both will accelerate the mass EV adoption by setting up viable EV charging infrastructure across the country.

MG’s Role In The EV Space In India

Having launched the ZS EV well ahead of time, MG did play an important role in pushing EVs in the Indian market. ZS EV was one of the first proper EVs in the market, and that represented itself as a benchmark. Soon after that, we saw Tata Motors take a giant leap in the EV space with multiple EV launches.

Furthermore, MG was also the first carmaker that encouraged the setting up of charging stations across the country. The company has had multiple collaborations to realise the same and continues to do so. With the all-new MG ZS EV, the carmaker is quite optimistic about its product and hopes to add more sales volume. Customers, too, are showing positive signs of making their shift to EVs, thus propelling the sales for EV makers in the country.
