MG Motor India rolls out ‘Vehicle Subscriptions’ in partnership with Zoomcar

MG Motors India has announced its partnership with Indian self-drive car rental company and vehicle subscription platform, for an end-to-end technology solution for its vehicle subscription platform. The partnership will enable the Chinese-owned British brand to penetrate the four-wheeler subscription market even further. 

The Zoomcar mobility platform will be managing the subscription program on behalf of MG Motors and the brand’s latest vehicles will be available through Zoomcar’s flexible 12-, 24-, or 36-month subscription program. Both the brands will also provide their customers with 24×7 support for vehicle bookings and listings. The technology solution company will also include services such as on-ground fleet management, logistics support, vehicle scheduling, and onboarding.

In other news, MG is planning to launch the MG Gloster full-size SUV in the Indian market which will rival luxury SUVs such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee in India. The SUV is expected to measure in at 5005mm in length, 1932mm in width and 1875mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2950mm. 

The MG Gloster is also likely to feature LED headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, multi-zone climate control, front seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions, seating for 7 persons, digital instrumentation and 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with internet-connected features. 

MG Motor India has also launched the 6-seater version of the MG Hector in the Indian market dubbed the MG Hector Plus at prices starting INR 13.49 lakh ex-showroom. The new MG Hector Plus distinguishes itself from the standard Hector SUV with new features and styling changes on the exterior, new captain seats in the second row and extra 3rd-row seating. 

MG Motor India has recorded a 40% increase in retail sales for the month of July 2020 at 2,105 units, as compared to 1,508 units sold in July 2019. The recently launched MG Hector Plus is believed to be the key sales driver and is likely to pull more traction in terms of sales especially during the upcoming festive season.
