MG Motor India celebrates 1 year of Gloster with 4×4 driving experience

MG Motor India conducted a unique 4×4 driving experience for its customers to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the Gloster SUV. MG invited more than 50 families to experience the off-roading capabilities of its luxurious and premium, Autonomous Level-1 SUV. At the event, customers got the opportunity to drive the Gloster SUV on curated tracks to test its capabilities. This included the SUV’s ability to handle Articulations, Hill Climbing, and Descent along with Water Wading.

MG Gloster: Detailed Highlights 

Over the past 1 year since its debut, the Gloster has showcased a great pace in terms of sales. For the Indian market, MG offers the Gloster SUV in 4 feature-rich variants – Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy. MG offers a twin-turbocharged diesel powertrain with a four-wheel drive (4WD) for the Sharp and top-spec Savvy variants of the Gloster. Additionally, MG offers the Gloster SUV with a segment-first Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

The Gloster also features other segment-first tech features such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Automatic Parking Assist. Other unique features on the Gloster include Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Blind Spot Detection (BSD). The 2.0-litre, twin-turbo diesel engine featured on the Gloster produces 218 PS of power and 480 Nm of torque. MG has paired the engine to an 8-speed automatic transmission and offers a dedicated rear differential for the SUV.

The SUV features an Intelligent All Terrain System with a BorgWarner transfer case and a unique electronic shift-by-wire technology. The combination of these features allows the SUV to showcase enhanced control for drivers during off-roading. On the inside, the Gloster sports a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, the SUV sports first-in-class captain seats, 64-color ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and 7 drive modes. These include Snow, Mud, Sand, Eco, Sport, Normal, and Rock.

Other News 

Recently, MG Motor India also announced its partnership with Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Pvt Ltd (CleanMax). According to the partnership, CleanMax will supply 4.85 MW of wind-solar hybrid power to power MG’s manufacturing facility. Located in Halol, Gujarat, the manufacturing facility will end up reducing CO2 emissions by 2 lakh MT in 15 years.
