MG M9 India-spec range, features, and colours officially revealed

MG Motor India has officially revealed the India-spec M9, its first all-electric MPV, ahead of its expected launch later this month. The M9 will be sold exclusively through MG Select showrooms and is positioned as a premium chauffeur-driven EV with a focus on comfort, tech, and sustainability.

Powertrain and range

The M9 is powered by a 90kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery, paired with a 245hp, 350Nm front-mounted motor. MG claims a range of 548 km on a single charge, based on internal testing.

Charging options include:

  • 160kW DC fast charging: 0–100% in 90 minutes
  • 11kW AC home/office charger: Full charge in 10 hours

The M9 also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities.

Interior and features

The cabin is finished in cognac brown leather and suede, exuding a premium lounge-like feel. Key features include:

  • 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
  • 13-speaker JBL sound system
  • 7-inch digital driver’s display
  • Dual sunroofs (single-pane + panoramic)
  • 64-colour ambient lighting
  • Digital IRVM and PM 2.5 air filter

The second-row Presidential seats are the highlight, offering:

  • 16-way power adjustment
  • Ventilation, heating, and massage functions
  • Fold-out ottomans
  • Touchscreen controls on headrests
  • Boss mode with kerb-side seat adjustment

The third row is no afterthought either, with AC vents, USB-A ports, and sliding seat functionality.

Safety and ADAS

The M9 comes equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and emergency braking. Other safety features include:

  • 7 airbags
  • 360-degree camera
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • ISOFIX child seat mounts

It also boasts a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, reinforcing its premium positioning.

Colours and dimensions

The M9 will be available in three colour options:

  • Metal Black
  • Concrete Grey with black roof
  • Pearl Lustre White with black roof

It measures 5,200mm long, 2,000mm wide, and 1,800mm tall, making it the largest MPV in India. Boot space is expandable up to 945 litres, and there’s a 55-litre frunk for added practicality.
