MG Hector SUV bookings open for INR 50,000

MG Motor’s much-awaited SUV, the Hector can now be booked at a price of INR 50,000 starting 4th June 2019. The Hector is the first car in India from the British brand MG and the car’s price is yet to be announced. The SUV can now be booked online, through their official website or by walking into MG dealerships. MG will have around 120 outlets across 50 cities in India and the brand aims to open a total of 250 touch points in India by September 2019.

In the engine department, the MG Hector is powered by the following options:-

Petrol – 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine which produces 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque mated to a manual gearbox with the option of an automatic DCT (dual clutch transmission). Select petrol manual variants come with a 48V mild-hybrid system which features regenerative braking, auto start/stop and E-Boost capabilities.

Diesel – 2.0-litre diesel engine which produces 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque

The MG Hector can seat five people and according to a media report, the brand is planning to launch the seven-seat version of the SUV next year. In terms of competition, the MG Hector rivals the likes of the Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and the Jeep Compass. The MG Hector is expected to be priced in the INR 15 lakh to INR 20 lakh on-road.
