MG Hector SUV becomes expensive by nearly INR 50,000

MG’s much popular Hector SUV is getting dearer by INR 50,000 on the dual-tone Sharp variant. The brand launched the 2021 MG Hector SUV in the Indian market at the beginning of 2021 priced starting at 12.90 lakh ex-showroom. The brand has gradually increased the ex-showroom price of the SUV in the Indian market. The reason for the hike in price is due to the increase in the input cost at the production.

Recently, the cost of freight has also risen due to the increase in the price of diesel and petrol. Now the starting ex-showroom price of the 2021 MG Hector is INR 13.49 lakh ex-showroom. According to sources, the Smart and Sharp trims for the Hector are now higher by INR 8,000. However, the MG Hector 2021 is not the only MG vehicle in the portfolio to see the price hike. The price hike will also affect the Hector Plus and Gloster SUVs.

MG Hector SUV – Powertrain

Powering the MG Hector SUV is a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The engine produces 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic. The brand also offers the MG Hector with a diesel engine. The 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine produces 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. The oil motor comes with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The MG Hector 2021 comes with features such as LED DRLs, projector headlamps and LED combination tail lamps. The SUV also comes with a 10.4-inch vertically-oriented iSmart touchscreen infotainment system and industry-first Hinglish Voice Commands. The Hector also gets Wireless Charging Pad, new ambient lights, new Ventilated Seats and updated alloy wheels. MG also offers the Hector 2021 with MG Sheild 5-5-5 offer including a 5-year unlimited km warranty, 5-year Roadside Assistance and 5 labour free services. The car also gets specially curated accessories including seat covers, sunshades and air purifiers.
