MG Motor India has launched a new Hector Dual Delight variant, a dual-tone exterior colour option which is available in two colours – Glaze Red with Starry Black roof and Candy White with Starry Black roof. A couple of weeks ago, MG Motor India launched the MG Hector Anniversary Edition in the Indian market with the starting price of INR 13.63 lakh ex-showroom for the Petrol Manual and INR 14.99 lakh ex-showroom for the Diesel manual which will be available in limited numbers.
The dual-tone colour option is only available on the top-of-the-line Sharp spec Hector and is priced between INR 16.84 lakh and INR 18.09 lakh (ex-showroom, India) depending on the engine variant and transmission. To put things into perspective, the Dual-Delight (Dual-Tone) model is INR 20,000 more expensive than the comparable single tone trim.
The only change in the Dual-Delight edition is the gloss black roof treatment with black pillars. The rest of the SUV remains unchanged. The brand has not made any changes to the interiors of the Hector and they remain the same.
The MG Hector Anniversary Edition which is based on the lower-mid spec Super trim and features added accessories such as wireless smartphone charging, panoramic sunroof, air purifier and Medklinn in-car cabin air treatment system.
The MG Hector is powered by a BS6 emission compliant 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine which produces 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque available in a manual gearbox. The Diesel model is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual transmission option. The petrol engine also comes with an optional 48V mild-hybrid system.
The MG Hector competes with the likes of Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos in the mid-segment SUV space.
In other news, MG Motor India has been engaged in a teaser campaign for the MG Gloster premium SUV, the brand has already revealed that the Gloster will become India’s first Autonomous Level 1 SUV and features Automatic Parking Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and collision mitigation systems such as Automated Emergency Braking.
