MG Motor India has unveiled the MG Gloster premium SUV in the Indian market and announced that the brand has commenced accepting pre-launch bookings for India’s First Autonomous (Level 1) Premium SUV at the booking amount of INR 100,000. The bookings on the MG Gloster is now live on the MG Motor India website as well as its 200+ centers across India. The MG Gloster SUV will be offered in four colour options – Agate Red, Metal Black, Metal Ash and Warm White.
The MG Gloster SUV measures more than 5 metres in length and comes with large muscular proportions and an upright butch design language. In terms of styling, the MG Gloster SUV features an imposing horizontal slated radiator grille with satin silver finish, a chunky MG logo in the centre, muscular power bulges on the bonnet, a black air dam with silver finished skid plate.
The MG Gloster also features equipment such as sleek dual-projector LED headlamps, halogen-powered front fog lights with satin silver inserts, aero ducts flanking the lower front apron, rounded wheel arches with plastic cladding, a large silver-finished stepper on the side to aid ingress and egress, chrome window beltline, wraparound combination tailamps, a bold chrome ‘GLOSTER’ moniker on the tailgate and quad rounded faux tailpipes.
The MG Gloster will be powered by the globally acclaimed 2.0-litre four-cylinder Twin-Turbo Diesel engine that makes 218 PS of power and 480 Nm of torque, matched to an 8-speed automatic transmission, making it the most powerful SUV in its category. The MG Gloster features on-demand Four-Wheel Drive technology with seven different drive modes – Normal, Snow, Mud, Sand, Eco, Sport, and Rock enabling the SUV to traverse over rough terrain with ease. The Intelligent All Terrain System comes with off-roading abilities and features a dedicated locking rear differential and BorgWarner transfer case along with state-of-the-art electronic shift-on-the-fly technology.
The MG Gloster also highlights features such as first-in-segment Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), offering Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Automatic Parking Assist, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD) making it the country’s First Autonomous (Level 1) premium SUV.
The MG Gloster also features MG i-SMART technology with Critical Tyre Pressure Voice Alert, Anti-Theft Immobilization via Smartphone that remotely immobilises the SUV, 3D maps from MapMyIndia with COVID testing locations, potholes and speed alerts, Apple Watch Connectivity, in-built Gaana app, voice control, PM 2.5 filter, 360-degree camera etc. The SUV also gets a segment-leading 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, segment-first captain seats, 64 color ambient lighting and panoramic sunroof.
MG Motor India is also set to soon unveil the industry-first ‘Shield’ – Ownership Package for Gloster customers.
