MG Motor India has announced the brand’s monthly sales figures which reveals that the brand’s latest entrant into the luxury SUV segment the MG Gloster has garnered 2,000 bookings in the Indian market after the brand commenced bookings and launched the premium SUV in India. The brand will now be closing the introductory offer and the prices on the MG Gloster are expected to be increased, as the brand has announced earlier that the introductory offer will last only up to 31st October or for the first 2,000 bookings, whichever is earlier.
The MG Gloster SUV is launched in four trims – Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy along with two engine variants – 2.0-litre Turbocharged Diesel and 2.0-litre TwinTurbocharged Diesel. is priced starting INR 28.98 lakh ex-showroom for the Super trim with 7-seats, INR 30.98 lakh ex-showroom for the Smart trim, INR 33.68 lakh ex-showroom for the Sharp trim with 7-seats, INR 33.98 lakh ex-showroom for the Sharp trim with 6-seats and 35.38 lakh ex-showroom for the top-of-the-line Savvy trim. Also, the MG Gloster is available in four exterior colours – Agate Red, Metal Ash, Metal Black and Warm White.
Depending on the variant, the MG Gloster SUV is powered by a BS6 emission-compliant 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 163 PS of power and 375 Nm of torque paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission and a with a 4X2 driveline. Or the 2.0-litre four-cylinder Twin-Turbocharged diesel motor that makes 218 PS of power and 480 Nm of torque matched to an 8-speed automatic transmission and comes with a 4X4 driveline. The Gloster SUV comes with on-demand 4-wheel-drive technology along with drive modes – Rock, Sand, Mud, Snow and a separate rear differential lock button with Borg Warner Transfer Case.
The MG Gloster SUV measures 4985mm in length, 1926mm in width, 1867mm in height along with 2950mm of wheelbase. The large proportions of the Gloster allow the SUV to offer a 2+3+2, a seven-seat layout as well as 2+2+2, six-seat layout with captain seats. It also comes with highlights such as 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display with i-Smart 2.0 integration, 70 connected features and Android Auto & Apple CarPlay integration, Level 1 Autonomous features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Parking Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning and Critical Tyre Pressure Voice Alert, premium leather materials inside the cabin, 3-zone climate control, PM 2.5 filter, 12-way power adjustment seat, powered tailgate with kick gesture, LED headlamps with auto levelling, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps etc.
