MG Cloud EV could arrive in India soon, will slot above ZS EV?

MG Motor India could be planning to launch a new electric vehicle in the Indian market. The brand already has two electric vehicle models – the MG ZS EV and the MG Comet EV. The new crossover SUV is also likely to be the brand most premium pure electric car in the Indian market. Reports further reveal that the brand is likely to launch the MG Cloud EV as soon as September this year. This could hold substance as the EV has been spied testing on Indian roads. In addition to this, when JSW joined hands with MG Motor India, becoming JSW MG Motor India PVT LTD, the brand had revealed that it plans an onslaught of electric vehicles for the Indian market under the MG brand.

Will the Cloud EV Slot-In Above the MG ZS EV?

So the question is where will MG position the Cloud EV in its electric car portfolio. Measuring 4295mm in length, 1850mm in width, and 1652mm in height, the brand is likely to position the MG Cloud EV above the MG ZS EV. This means the Cloud EV will become the next flagship electric vehicle model in MG’s portfolio. Furthermore, the Cloud EV is also likely to offer more conmfort and convenience features as compared to the ZS EV. This could include, premium flush fitting door handles, LED headlights and a light bar and L-shaped LED tail lights.

Furthermore, the MG Cloud EV is also likely to come with a minimalist dashboard but laid down with premium materials. The interior features are also likely to include a 10.1-inch infotainment system along with an 8.8-inch driver’s instruments cluster. The Cloud EV could also get a 15.6-inch touchscreen on higher-spec models. Furthermore, MG is likely to offer the Cloud EV with Connected features and hinglish voice commands. The EV is also likely to come with Level2 ADAS features, 6-airbags, 360-degree camera and more.

Powertrain and Battery

While, powertrain details are still scarce, but speculation is that the MG Cloud EV is likely to come with a 50.6 kWh battery pack that could offer a driving range of around 450 km on a single charge. The brand is also likely to offer the MG Cloud with a fast charger.
