Mercedes-Maybach sales skyrocketing in India
In a recent interview, Daniel Lescow, Global Sales Head, Mercedes-Maybach, said that India is soon going to step into the top 5 countries for brand sales. In fact, the luxury car brand sold more than 500 units alone in the previous year.
As per the officials, the Indian luxury car market, especially Maybach customers, has witnessed a steep hike post-pandemic. While the exact reason behind this is not clear, there seems to be a thought process shift as more young buyers are buying high-end cars.
Daniel also stated that the brand sold one car every seven days in India last year. This has resulted in a paradigm shift in the brand’s approach for the domestic market. With the majority of young buyers, the average buyer age for the brand now stands at 38.
One more possible reason behind its success is the introduction of EVs with the Maybach moniker. The high-end EVs make more sense to buyers as the majority of the users end up using these cars within the city limits and for short driving distances. The EVs suit well because of their instant performance, efficiency, and calm cabin experience.
Additionally, as more young buyers are purchasing the Maybach cars, the brand is incorporating various strategies for marketing to inform buyers about the benefits, technical advantages, and other positives.
Mercedes recently introduced the new 2025 EQS S680 Night Series model in India at Rs 2.63 crore (ex-showroom, India). It is an all-black version that offers the top-notch luxury features and the latest tech to the customers.
