Mercedes-Benz launches ‘Mercedes me connect’ in India

Mercedes-Benz today announced their new digital initiatives and connected features for their range of cars in India. The luxury car brand which is leading the sales race, now plans to lead the digital customer experience zone and keep the tech savvy customers happy. Mercedes-Benz has announced under the ‘Mercedes Me’ a new OBD device which is compatible with all cars starting from 2007, and this device alone will be made available for INR 5,000.

Mercedes-Benz announced Luxe Drive in 2008, Luxury Retail Experience in 2013, Digital Service Drive in 2016 and Service on Wheels since 2018. Under the new digital initiatives, Mercedes-Benz India will allow for custom configuration of luxury cars in 3 simple steps.

Mercedes-Benz will also launch an online used car ownership / buying experience. In phase 1, the brand will allow for Mercedes-Benz certified cars only which is live currently. In phase 2, even the brand dealerships will be allowed to certify cars starting from December 2019. Phase 3 which will allow dealers to sell new cars starting from January 2020. Mercedes-Benz India will also become the only luxury car brand to retail merchandise online.

Via Mercedes Me, the features which will be made available to customers include manage driver profiles, weather APP, valet protect, manage Mercedes Me Connect, remote vehicle status, emergency call support, configure driver profile, remote services, maintenance management, offline map updates, vehicle locator when parked, telediagnostics, software updates, car tracker, accident recovery & breakdown support, concierge services, speed alerts, live traffic info, etc…

In phase 2 & 3, Mercedes-Benz will allow for e-sim being inbuilt in the car along with MBUX ‘Hey Mercedes’ services.

For better customer satisfaction, Mercedes-Benz has also introduced an online service estimator for a hassle free ownership.
