Mercedes-Benz E-Class owner drives home a new MG Gloster

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Morris Garages claims that there is a growing preference among owners of luxury car manufacturers to make a shift to MG’s offerings. Setting the example is Madhuri Rajan Bhende from Pune. The customer recently became a proud owner of an MG Gloster Diesel 2.0 Twin Turbo 4×4 6 seater 8 AT Sharp. Previously the customer owned a Mercedes E Class, E250CDI, which they exchanged with the SUV.

Previously Morris Garages talked about a customer who opted to replace his Jaguar and get an MG Gloster top trim. Another example is a customer who upgraded from Hector Plus Diesel to Gloster 6 Savvy top trim. Moreover, the customer also received a resale value of 93.7 per cent for the Hector Plus. And hence got a value of INR 17 lakh for the SUV.

What Makes Gloster A Top Choice?

Powering the SUV is a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. The performance figure stands at 218 HP and 480 Nm of torque. Power is channelled to the rear wheels via an 8-speed torque-converter automatic, with an on-demand 4WD system. But there’s sad news for the off-road enthusiasts as there’s no manually selectable 4WD or low range. The driver can lock the rear e-diff with a button, but other than this, there’s no manual intervention to the 4WD system. MG is providing four different drive modes, namely, Sand, Snow, Rock and Mud.

Long Equipment List

One key area where Gloster brightly excels is the number of features and tech. The key highlight ones are, Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof, Driver Seat & Outside Mirror Memory Function (2 sets), Wireless Charging, and also Driver Seat Massage & Ventilation. Further, the co-driver also gets an 8 Way Power Adjustment Seat (Including 4 Lumbar Adjustment).

In terms of driver aid, the Gloster packs Blind Spot Detection and a 360-degree Around View Camera. In addition to all these, Gloster also gets Level 1 Autonomous capability. Standard safety features include Dual Front, Side, & Full-Length Curtain Airbags along with Electronic Stability Program, Traction Control System, Roll Movement Intervention, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, and Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Rear Disc Brakes.
